Stony Creek Farmstead is owned and worked by three generations of the Marsiglio family. Kate and Dan produce meat, eggs, and vegetables for sale. The cows and sheep are 100% grass fed. Pigs and poultry supplement their pasture diets with locally grown certified organic grains. The farm alsooffers farm stays and pizza nights. 60 head of beef and 25 ewes with lambs are managed on about 100 acres of pastures.
We will walk the pastures, discuss current forage quality and quantities of currently grazed paddocks, and have a conversation about early season grass management including topics of setting up the “grazing wedge”, dealing with high protein pastures, and transitioning from winter feed. Come prepared to walk the pastures rain or shine. We will also be demonstrating the use of electronets. There is no cost to attend the pasture walk.
