Watershed Forestry Educator

The Watershed Agricultural Council’s Forestry Program is seeking to hire one seasonal Watershed Forestry Educator for the summer of 2022. The seasonal Watershed Forestry Educator will primarily provide support for educator training programs associated with the WAC Forestry Program’s Urban-Rural Education Initiative. The secondary function of this position will be to provide support for forest landowner outreach, education, and stewardship programs within the NYC Watershed. Must have a dependable vehicle, insurance and a valid NYS driver’s license. This is a 10-week summer position that pays $16.00 per hour, does not include a benefit package or housing. This position is located in Yorktown Heights, NY.

Economic Viability Program Intern

The Watershed Agricultural Council seeks an Economic Viability Program Intern to perform various duties in relationship to the Pure Catskills Initiative. Duties include delivering Pure Catskills Guides, membership relations support, content development for various electronic and print media, event coordination and setup and creating outreach materials for the Pure Catskills buy local campaign. Must have a dependable vehicle, insurance and a valid NYS driver’s license. This is a 10-week summer position that pays $14.00 per hour and does not include a benefit package.

Summer Interns – 5 Positions Available

The Watershed Agricultural Council seeks 5 Interns/Temporary employees to perform various duties as part of a Watershed Agricultural Program (WAP) serving farms within the NYC Watershed. Four (4) of the positions will be Nutrient Management soil samplers who will perform the duties of soil sampling and data collection. One (1) position will be a WAP Technical Intern who will perform the duties of Best Management Practice (BMP) installation, repairs and inspections. Other duties will entail WFP monitoring, soils sampling and BMP data collection. These are 10-week summer positions that pay $14.00 per hour. Must have dependable vehicle, insurance and a valid N.Y.S. driver’s license. Will be reimbursed for mileage incurred on the job. E.O.E.
