Agricultural Program Interns/Temporary Employees

The Watershed Agricultural Council is seeking 6 Interns/Temporary employees to perform various duties as part of a Watershed Agricultural Program (WAP) serving farms within the NYC Watershed. Four (4) of the positions will be Nutrient Management soil samplers who will perform the duties of soil sampling and data collection, One (1) position will be a WAP Ag/Field intern who will assist WAP staff with the design, implementation and site inspections of BMP’s. One (1) position will be a WAP Planning/Technical Intern who will perform the duties of WFP monitoring, BMP inspections and installation and BMP data collection. These are 10 week summer positions that pay $13.00 per hour. Must have dependable vehicle, insurance and a valid N.Y.S. driver’s license. Will be reimbursed for mileage incurred on the job. E.O.E. Economic Viability Program Intern/Temporary Employee

The Watershed Agricultural Council is seeking an Economic Viability Program Intern/Temporary employee. The Intern will assist the Economic Viability Program with document archiving, Pure Catskills membership relations and support, content development for various electronic and print media, event coordination and setup, and creating outreach materials consistent with messaging of the Pure Catskills buy local campaign which will reinforce the positive impact being made in the region. The duration of this position will be approximately 10 weeks from late spring through the summer of 2018. The rate of pay will be $13.00 per hour, 40 hours per week. Must have a valid driver’s license. EOE.

Seasonal Watershed Forestry Educator – East of Hudson

The Watershed Agricultural Council’s Forestry Program is seeking to hire one seasonal Watershed Forestry Educator for the summer of 2019. The seasonal Watershed Forestry Educator will primarily provide support for educator training programs associated with the WAC Forestry Program’s Urban-Rural Education Initiative. The secondary function of this position will be to provide support for forest landowner outreach and education programs within the NYC Watershed. This is a 10 week position that pays $14.00 per hour. Must have dependable vehicle, insurance and a valid driver’s license. Will be reimbursed for mileage incurred on the job. E.O.E.

Agricultural Program Engineer

The Watershed Agricultural Council is seeking an Engineer for its Agricultural Program. The Engineer will serve as a program engineer to work cooperatively in the design and implementation of Agricultural Best Management Practices (BMPs) in the Watershed Agricultural Program (WAP) in the West of Hudson Watershed. Qualifications and requirements detailed in position description. Salary: approximately $65,000. Excellent benefits package including but not limited to 8% employer contribution to 403(b) pension; health, dental and vision insurance (employer pays 95% of cost of plan); and portable term life insurance policy.
