Hear from local experts on current pest pressure and learn about new threats to our woods. Participants will learn how to identify these pests and management options will be discussed during a woods walk. This class is eligible for 1 TLC CE Credit.

Introduces open face felling and the development of techniques to safely use it. Topics covered include personal protective equipment, chainsaw safety features, chainsaw reactive forces, bore cutting, pre-planning the fell, and understanding hinge wood strength. This class will take place in the Catskills Region, exact location to be determined in the Summer.

October 2023

October 20 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Join staff from the Department of Environmental Conservation, WAC Forestry and CCE staff to learn new ways to identify wetlands in the woods, how to avoid working in wet soils and regulations in place to protect wetlands. This class will be held in the Catskills Region. Exact location will be available in early Fall. This class is eligible for 1 TLC CE Credit.
