Joshua VanBrakle has served as the Forestry Program's Wood Products Utilization and Marketing Specialist since 2010. Based in Watershed Agricultural Council's Hamden office, Joshua promotes the local wood products industry through projects such as Catskill WoodNet and the Watershed Woody Biomass Program. A member of the Society of American Foresters, Joshua received his B.A. in Environmental Economics and Policy from Lebanon Valley College and his M.S. from SUNY–College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Joshua has presented and published on several forestry-related topics, including a June 2011 article on woody biomass heating in the national Journal of Forestry. Joshua's Perspective: Having strong markets for forest products will make forest ownership more viable for landowners and contribute to better forest and water quality in the NYC Watershed.
