Education: BSc from SUNY ESF in Natural Resource Management, A.A.S. in Forestry from Paul Smith's College, Associates degree in Business from the Mohawk Valley Community College, 35 years of experience in forestry consulting, wood products and natural resources, SAF certified, and NYS DEC cooperating consultant forester.
Special Interests: Proper management of forestland and the proper harvesting of forest products.
Mission Statement: Mankind's purpose should be to take care of the earth and make it a paradise. Therefore a forester's mission is to treat the whole earth with respect and the forest as a type of garden. My many years of experience has shown me that landowners who care for their forests will obtain long term income and other benefits. My goal is to provide the professional help that landowners need to care for their forests. Economic considerations are important but they must be intergrated into the improvement of the forest. The harvesting of trees needs to be done in such a manner as to obtain economic benefit from the market of dying, crowding, mature and declining trees. The harvesting of trees to enchance establised regeneration and encourage quality regeneration is also important. Improvements in the forest access trail system, improvement in wildlife habitat, protection of rare, unusual, threatened and endangered species and water quality are also important and are included in forest management practices. Everything needs to take place in an orderly reasonable manner and by arrangement.
