Watershed Forestry Bus Tour Program

The Bus Tour Grant Program is designed to connect groups in New York City with their water supply systems in the Catskill Mountains and the East-of-Hudson region. The funding is a 50/50 cost share with the participating group and is open to anyone with the capacity to organize and coordinate a tour.

Tours generally last between one and three days and involve a wide array of activities. Listed below are samples of themed bus tours. When planning a tour, you can mix and match from any of the itineraries below. Not all destinations are included in the itineraries and more are added each year. For pictures of recent bus tours click here.

Participants in The Catskill Watershed Corporation grants program and Trout in the Classroom are encouraged to apply.

For more information, please contact Common Ground Educational Consulting, PO Box 121, Arkville, NY 12406, (845) 586-1600. E-mail jolenych@catskill.net.

Approximate travel times to the watershed are: three hours from New York City; two plus hours from Albany; one plus hours from Kingston.
