Blenheim Gilboa Power Plant


Tour this local hydroelectric power plant facility to find out how the New York Power Authority is using water to generate low cost electricity for residents. This power plant can generate more than one million kilowatts of electricity when necessary by drawing water from Schoharie Creek and recycling it between two reservoirs.

 

Reservoir Visit

Choose from one of six reservoirs West of the Hudson River or one of thirteen reservoirs East of the Hudson River. A spokesperson from the New York City Department of Environmental Protection will explain how the water supply is kept safe and clean.
